Raman micro-spectroscopy:
Subject of investigation : samples or in a bright section of pigment. Thin sections of rocks and pottery.
Kind of investigation:
Punctual identification (micrometric resolution) of organic substances (pigments, minerals, products of deterioration), and of inorganic substances (organic media, products of deterioration).
Instruments: Jobin-Ivon LTD, equipped with a CCD detector and an Ar+ laser (?=514.5nm).
X Ray Diffractometry (XRD)
Subject of investigation::: Samples of pigment, plaster and crushed stone materials (few mg).
Kind of investigation: A qualitative and semi-qualitative determination of the mineral components and of the substances of crystalline changes.
Instruments:Philips PW 1710 (CuKa).
X Ray Fluorescent (XRF)
Subject of investigation:: Samples of pigment, plaster and crushed stone materials (few mg).
Kind of investigation: Qualitative determination of the chemical composition (major, minor and traces of elements)
