The Project

In this field, the Department of Earth Science of Siena has given birth to an Archeometric Group which carries out an important activity in the scientific study and diagnosis applied to works of art. The collaboration which has been set up with the Siena Viva Cooperative renders a wide and multi-year competence integral and available in the two principal sectors for the functioning of the project, which means, the archeometric sector and the artistic-historic one.
The spreading of the scientific results is an integral part of the benefits which this kind of study guarantees, making the community aware of the importance of conservation and improving the fruition of Good.

This is the reason why, one of the objectives of the project will be the in situ creation of a special panel installation giving the visitor didactic support.
The drawing up of technical reports, regarding the present state of preservation of the findings investigated, will represent an important working instrument of any eventual restoration actions, or simply maintenance, by the institution caring for the preservation.
The publication on paper guarantees the fruition of the results by the scientific community.
